I bought an 8 inch replacement sub for my cars factory sound system, it works ok but needs a little bit more punch. What would be a good size amp to get, it%26#039;s a 300 watt max, 4 ohm sub, just need a little extra kick, nothing super special.

First find out the RMS power. MAX or PEAK power is an arbitrary rating with no real use.
Find an amp that matches the RMS power at 4 ohm. Be sure to bypass the factory amp.

whats the rms? check the rms on the sub then get the same rms amp.. never go by %26#039;max%26#039; or %26#039;peak%26#039;.. rms is the continuous running power of the sub. im guessing get a 100 to 300 rms amp though..
